Increasing Diversity in Innovation
Hear from leading experts on how to affect meaningful change in your organization
Findings by the US Patent Office and leading researchers show that women, people of color and veterans are significantly underrepresented as US patent inventors.
A recent report by the US Patent Office showed that only 12.8% of US patent inventors in 2019 were women. All of the data indicates that the US has missed out on millions of inventors which impacts national innovation and economic growth.
On July 26-29, the US Intellectual Property Alliance and UC Berkeley will host a virtual conference bringing together the US Patent Office, corporate legal teams, academics, innovators, industry associations and other key stakeholders across the country.
The conference will focus on increasing awareness and engagement of underrepresented inventors within organizations. The goal will be to share details about how firms are promoting inventor diversity in their organizations, through pilots, best practices and education.
We will also hear from leading thinkers and academics about cutting-edge research on promoting inclusive innovation.
